FPGA Developer

We’re looking for an FPGA Developer to help push the limits of modern C-UAV technology, from high-performance signal processing for embedded platforms that simply must work every time.

You’ll help turn complex system designs into robust, mission-driven products, building the digital foundation behind our fast, reliable counter-drone technology.

When we say mission-driven, we mean it.

At MyDefence, we innovate to protect those who protect people, assets, and society. Our counter-drone systems are built to support armed forces, safeguard critical missions, and secure vital infrastructure against fast-evolving airborne threats.

We merge deep operational insight with agile engineering, and we care just as much about the people behind the technology as the technology itself.

That’s how we create impact that matters.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work at the core of our SDR- and SoC-based platforms, accelerating algorithms, shaping architectures, and delivering stable, high-performance
implementations.

You’ll get to:

  • Contribute to system-level design across RF, hardware, software, and signal processing.
  • Implement cutting-edge signal-processing algorithms in FPGA for C-UAV applications.
  • Bring up new platforms involving SoCs and SDRs, and ensure they reach robust, reliable performance.
  • Work across the full stack, understanding how choices in FPGA, firmware, and RF design influences the entire product experience.
  • Work primarily with Xilinx HLS, C for embedded programming, supported by Python for simulation, modelling, and validation.

Who you are
You’re an engineer at heart: curious, analytical, and motivated by solving complex technical challenges with real-world consequences. You enjoy diving deep, experimenting, and turning insight into reliable, validated solutions.

You thrive in uncharted technological territory, are eager to learn, evolve, and to move the goalposts in this rapidly evolving field.

Key Requirements (Must-haves):

  • Production Experience: You have 3+ years of experience bringing FPGA products through to production and into the hands of users
  • FPGA Skills: You are experienced with Xilinx HLS (High-Level Synthesis) or VHDL
  • Security: You are able to obtain and maintain a Danish Security Clearance
  • Language: You speak and write English fluently.

It is a plus if you:

  • Have experience with VHDL/Verilog for legacy support (if HLS is your primary strength)
  • Have experience with C or C++
  • Are proficient in Python for simulation and validation.
  • Have a background in DSP (Signal Processing) or SDR (Software Defined Radio)

Who’s your team
You’ll join our Research & Development team, a cross-disciplinary group building The sensors and effectors that power MyDefence’s C-UAV capabilities.

It’s a mix of RF experts, embedded developers, FPGA engineers, algorithm specialists, and system architects, all working closely together to turn ideas into fully validated, field-ready solutions.

Our collaboration is tight and hands-on. We explore concepts together, challenge designs early, share responsibility for performance, and stay curious about how decisions in one part of the system impact everything else, from RF front-end to backend UX.

And as one of your future colleagues puts it:
“My colleagues, as an engineer at MyDefence, are among the most skilled and professional I have worked with in my career. This is not a place for those without ambitions, but a place of growth and creativity. Drone threats are evolving rapidly, and we see new challenges and demands every week. It adds to the creative environment that few standard solutions fit the products, so we are constantly challenged to come up with new ideas.”
— Rasmus Andersen, Senior Hardware Engineer

What we stand for
At MyDefence, we live by a shared set of values that guide us, in how we do business and how we show up as colleagues. These values are our compass, ensuring that we move forward with courage, execution, and care.

We Dare - Courage
We dare to challenge the status quo and push boundaries. Innovation requires bravery, and we’re not afraid to explore new paths that make a difference.

We Do - Execution
We take responsibility and get things done. We turn ideas into action and ensure progress follows commitment.

We Care - I Am Your Wing(wo)man
We support each other and have each other’s backs. We listen, we help, and we lift because trust and collaboration make us stronger.
